Start with your sleep position

Side, back, stomach, and combination sleepers place different demands on pillow height and shape. Your mattress firmness also changes how far your shoulder and torso sink.

Match loft to your body and mattress

Loft is the pillow’s height when supporting weight. A taller pillow is not automatically more supportive. Look for a height that keeps your head feeling neutral rather than sharply tilted.

Understand the foam

Solid memory foam tends to feel structured and slow-moving. Shredded foam is often more adjustable. Both can retain more heat than airy fiber fills, depending on construction and room temperature.

Read the return policy first

Pillow comfort is difficult to predict from photos. A clear return window, hygiene rules, shipping terms, and responsive customer support may be as important as the product specifications.

Be skeptical of medical promises

Design features can be described factually. Guaranteed cures, universal results, fabricated endorsements, and urgency that cannot be verified should make you pause.
