Feel and response
Memory foam softens with warmth and responds more slowly than springy latex or fiber. The feel can change with room temperature and foam formulation.
Heat and ventilation
Cutouts, channels, covers, and gel additives may change airflow, but no single feature guarantees a cool night. Bedding and room temperature matter too.
New-product odor
Some foam products have a temporary odor after unpacking. Follow the manufacturer’s ventilation and care instructions, and stop using a product if it causes irritation.
Cleaning
Many solid foam cores cannot be machine washed. Check whether only the cover is washable and follow the care label to avoid damaging the material.
